Wallis & Steevens History

The Wallis & Haslam engineering firm began its business in Basingstoke during 1860, later becoming Wallis & Steevens, and eventually ceasing trading in 1981. Although mainly known for their road rollers, they also produced traction engines. These employed their patented ‘expansion’ valve gear, designed to improve economy when running belt driven equipment.
